NURTURE - What is it that makes your heart sing? It's time to make a little time for that which nurtures you today. Whether that be drawing, meditating, reiki, massage, or sitting in the garden with a refreshing drink. If you take just 5 minutes for you, you'll be amazed at the difference it makes.
GIVE THANKS - What are you grateful for today? The sunshine? Hot coffee? The smile of a friend? Finding a carpark? Spend a few minutes looking at your life, appreciating all that you are, all you have made it through, where you are going, the people in your life, and yourself. Remember that you are loved beyond measure.
SMELL THE ROSES - Take a minute, slow down, breathe, and observe. What is going on around you? Focus on this moment, right now. The colours in your surroundings, the smells, how you are feeling. Breathe deep, and just observe. By stepping back and observing, we are instantly removed from any chaos. We can then look more clearly and truly know what is is we need to do.
REFLECT - Take a moment or two, to reflect on your year. Has it been a year of celebrations? Or a year of trials? A year of growth? Or a year of maintaining the status quo? Whatever it has been, realise you have made it to the end of the year. There have been experiences that changed you, experiences that helped you grow into the person you are today. You made it, and all is well.
If you are still having difficulty remaining calm, you could schedule a relaxing massage, or a reiki session. You could seek out essential oils such as:
Lavender - well known for it's calming properties, there are plenty of Lavender flowers in bloom at the moment. Rub some in your hands and inhale the delightful aroma.
Douglas Fir - uplifts mood and provides a sense of focus
Frankincense - Apply to the soles of your feet to promote feelings of relaxation and to balance mood
Rosemary - a little rubbed on the back of the neck works wonders for removing the overwhelm and allows you to focus more clearly on your "to do" list.
Happy Holidays xx
