This entry is a little more personal, and honours two great women who have departed this realm during this year leaving somewhat of a void in my life.
The gorgeous being in the middle of this photo is my dear teacher, guide, mentor and friend, Annie Kropman who transitioned somewhat unexpectedly at the end of April. This photo was taken at her 60th birthday party just a few short years ago.
I feel so truly blessed that she was a big part of my life. She embodied pure unconditional love, and was a gentle guide and mentor, challenging me on many occasions to step out of my comfort zone, creating and holding space for my spiritual growth and expansion.
We first met back in 1995, when her niece (my best friend at the time) got married. We connected on a much deeper level when I travelled to Sydney to study my Reiki Second Degree with her in May 1999. I was guided to connect with Annie also for my Reiki Master Teacher training and initiations in March of 2015. This proved to be a pivotal point in my journey, and I will forever be grateful for her teachings. Among other things, Annie introduced me to her crystal bowl collection, and blessed me with their delicate harmonies and powerful healing on more than one occasion. The gorgeous woman with me in this photo is my Mum... This photo was taken just before WOW at the end of 2019. That was a family weekend in Wellington spent creating lasting memories. A fantastic show - I recommend a visit if you get the opportunity!
After a troubled journey with Alzheimer's my Mum transitioned peacefully on the 14th June. As much as I miss her greatly, her passing was a blessing for her in the end.
We may not have always seen eye to eye, but she encouraged me to follow my heart and my dreams even when it perhaps wasn't the journey she had imagined for me. She allowed me to really know that "girls can do anything". She loved me the best way she knew how, and supported me when I needed it most.
Mum, you are truly missed, I love you.

The most challenging part for me, has been losing both of these fantastic women so close together. Each one a true matriarch in her own way, they each played a large part in shaping my life. I feel so truly blessed to have been connected with them both.
